Christies Direct
are one of the leading pet grooming suppliers in the world, and we currently
export to more than 40 countries worldwide. We develop and sell some of the
leading pet grooming brands in the market. We are currently implementing our
European expansion plan with our new distribution centre in Belgium, as well as
driving growth through our websites and online marketplaces. Our goal is to
better serve our European customers with a wider product range and faster
delivery times.
With this in mind,
we currently have an opportunity for an experienced purchaser to join our
procurement team to drive this exciting project forward and ensure that our
inventory levels are at the level required to deliver our plans. You will be part
of a dynamic team using the latest technology to reach these objectives.
Purchasing
experience in a fast-moving business is essential, as well as an enthusiastic
attitude and a desire to work in a truly international business based in
Northern Ireland.
Duties will include but are not
limited to:

Negotiating with
suppliers and placing Purchase Orders.
·
Maintaining
product details on our bespoke system – setting up new products and keeping
details current, i.e.: updating Bill of Materials.
·
Managing Warranty
Claims.
·
Arranging imports
and checking duty.
·
Following up on
invoice queries.
·
Analysing
purchasing data & preparing reports for management team.
·
Hitting Team
focussed KPI’s.
·
Working with
Purchasing Manager on product selection and brand forecasts.
·
Planning Promotion
Calendar & providing feedback on promotion success.
·
Some travel may be
required for the role (Trade Shows in the UK and Overseas).
·
Performing range
reviews based on product performance.
·
Ensuring optimum
stock levels are maintained.
· Ad-hoc duties as advised by the Purchasing Manager.
Essential Criteria
·
GCSE Maths &
English A-C or Equivalent.
·
12+ months
experience in Procurement/Purchasing/Buying.
·
Proven IT Skills –
Including Office (Outlook and Excel are essential) and Office365, Teams.
·
Ability to
demonstrate organisational and numerical skills.
·
Strong
communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
·
Ability to work as
part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
·
Proven success in
negotiating with suppliers.
·
Production planning
·
Additional
language fluency (both written and oral) would be a benefit in this role.
·
CIPS
Qualifications.
·
Knowledge of
Dangerous Goods.
·
Experience in
working with shipping companies and couriers.
